ISO released a new five-part series, ANSI/AAMI/ISO 23500, Preparation and quality management of fluids for haemodialysis and related therapies (Part 1/5), which provides guidance for ensuring safety and quality of dialysis fluids. It provides guidance on the preparation of the fluid for hemodialysis as well as substitution fluid which is used in online therapies, such as hemofiltration and hemodiafiltration. The remaining four parts of the series provide guidance for manufacturers, suppliers, and the end user.
